Much of my work is influenced by my interest in Taijiquan, and philosophies that are not so prevalent in the west, such as the beauty of impermanence, imperfection and incompleteness.

I'm a cutting paper artist in Japan, and I have made many paper arts from about 5 years ago. I make a paper art of UK architecture in particula, because I love gothic architectures so much. "Heavy" is made by only one part, so you can raise it so easy. The work is only 7 grams, but it seems to be so "Heavy"

Title: The Visionary Word
Size:  50 x 55 cm
Media:  Floss silk, Aluminium foil and Yarn with sequin on Felt
Price:
In the work, I imagined the north country in the depths of a severe cold winter. It's freezing, and the surface of the water of a river and the lake is solid. All the branches of the trees are covered with the whitish or semitransparent rime frost which is crystallized ice. The rime frost on the trees flies gently in the air on the breeze and falls onto the frozen surface of the water. It seems to bloom like a frost flower on the surface of the frozen lake. If there is no wind, there will be a diamond dust which is dancing and scattered in the air. It is a fantastic scene created by the innumerable ice particles reflecting the sunlight and shimmering. I imagined such a vision when creating this work. I used the white floss silk as the medium for rime frost, whereas the scrunched aluminium foil represents prominent ice and the glittering sequins might be crystals... I hop this expresses my imagination to you !

This tactile fabric is used to convey a range of thematic approaches. The subject matter varies from vessels, industrial detritus and nature. All of these motives explore a contrast between complimentary opposites such as internal/external, growth/decay, aesthetic/awkward. The works are symbolic of imperfection, impermanence and incompleteness. This can be seen in the undulations of the fabric, the finish of the works or the images themselves. The process of embroidery on a sewing machine creates repetitive mark making with stitches. The lines of thread combine to create a fabric.

In this project, I expand photography into the perceptual experience and challenge the notion of our embodied experience in the digital era. I will take the universal subject ‘sun’ as the model to explore the idea of perceptual experience, mediation and simulation. It is trying to renegotiate the way we experience this natural phenomenon and external world through bodily perception.

Our daily experience is largely dependent on the perception. As Merleau-Ponty claims in the Phenomenology of Perception, ‘the body is the third thing, strictly speaking neither subject nor object... is something ‘in between’, consciousness and the world, it is essentially ambiguous.’(Merleau-Ponty & Dreyfus,1992). The perception based on the body is a fundamental and immersive way to perceive the world. It challenges philosophical positions which based on the dichotomy between subject and object, then places bodily perception to the latter category.
The network coming with the digital revolution demonstrates a true virtual world for people, a virtual world which has the connection with all the time and space, and offers the illusionary feeling of presence. The perceptaul experience of reality shifts to the compression of illusion and is mediated. These illusions presents the exteral world through the digital space which blur the boundery between the real and unreal, and shaps the way that people perceive the the external through the perception.

The work is a constructed LED mirror with online images of sun. These simulacra of sun co-exist and generate the new constructed illusion for viewer which offers the new artificial phenomenon.
The interaction between the artwork and viewers is key point in this project. It is trying to invite viewers to experience this simulation of the sun with their bodily percpetion. The perceptual experience of this ephemeral natural phenomenon is shifting to the everlasting simulacra.

I ended up the idea that making arts is not what I want to express but what I
can express after all. The concept of the work is vestiges of simple activities like cutting, ripping, etc.rather than figuration. I simply devote myself to following whatever my hands and fingers are doing so that all those simple activities could finally combine with my memories or experiences piled in me so far. This is my way of going back to the source.

The wall is most important elements making up this space.
Vortex of mirror sticking out from the wall looks like black hole. It sucks into the whole things, and so everything in place is united with the wall.(vortex wall.jpg)
Other, Three vortexes look like female organ which first contact to human being.
It changes expressions corresponding to the situation of lights and assimilates into the wall. The natural pattern of material itself mixes lights and us, and will make expression of this space.(whorl of shines.jpg)
Also there are solids that exist like hole of someone's.
It is made up of folds like curls that wind around a whirlpool to draw us into the wall.
When touching with a hand, it plays a beautiful tone, and courtship comes. (hole of ones.jpg)
